About

Who Am I ?
Hello, I’m Berkay Hasip Dural
I am an IT enthusiast based in Germany, with a broad interest in general IT, network technologies, and software development. My journey in tech involves exploring how different systems communicate and building practical solutions.
I combine my background in software development with my growing focus on network architecture and system integration. Whether it’s writing code or configuring networks, I enjoy working across various areas of IT to solve real-world problems.
You can find more detailed information about what I’ve learned, my technical notes, and my articles on my Wiki page, my Blog, and the Projects list below. Feel free to explore!
Projects And Services (Overview)
Network Diagnostic Tool: A small Windows desktop application I wrote in C# to practice programming and networking concepts. It features basic asynchronous Ping, Traceroute, and a tool to retrieve local system information like IP and hostname. (Source code on my GitHub).
Home Lab & Virtualization Practice: To understand how enterprise servers work, I set up a local Proxmox VE server at home. I used this to create virtual machines, including a Debian web server and a FreeBSD DNS server (BIND9) for local domain resolution. I also experimented with NFS shared storage to test live VM migrations. (Details on my Wiki).
Cloud Hosting & Basic Security: I deployed this personal Wiki on an Oracle Cloud (OCI) server to learn about public-facing web hosting. To keep it secure, I practiced setting up Cloudflare for DNS proxying, installed Fail2Ban to block SSH brute-force attacks, and configured basic iptables firewall rules. (Details on my Wiki).
